Jeff Breakey is a recording engineer, mixer, producer, and songwriter based in Chicago. He has engineered over 20 Grammy-nominated albums over the last decade – working with artists like Anita Wilson, Donald Lawrence, Hezekiah Walker, Justin Timberlake, Karen Clark Sheard, Rick Robinson, and many others. Most recently, Jeff was lead engineer working with Ladysmith Black Mambazo on their recording for Steppenwolf Theater’s Lindiwe production in Chicago.

Jeff has been at the board for thousands of sessions in every genre, spanning gospel, hip hop, big band, jazz, rock, voiceovers and more. Using a hybrid of the latest HD ProTools techonology and classic analogue gear, Jeff works with artists to bring each project a unique vision and quality mix.

Jeff is also the founder of Good Wolf Music – a production company dedicated to helping musicians realize their full creative potential. Jeff enjoys practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, hiking, biking, writing music, and playing guitar, banjo and mandolin. He recently renovated a 1919 Chicago Bungalow and is an avid animal lover who spends his free time walking as many dogs as he can at Chicago Canine Rescue, along with his two dogs, Seymour and Phoebe.
